Position Summary:

This position reports to the Vice President, Business Development and will perform activities consistent with the position of a Director, Business Development and Partnerships, which will include but are not limited to:

  1. Execute a detailed and comprehensive sales and business development strategy while continuing to identify market needs, refine our value proposition and economic models for the biopharma market.
  2. Proactively target key decision makers to develop and foster relationships to drive new business and grow existing accounts with a focus across biopharma, patient recruitment organizations, and clinical research organizations.
  3. Identify, evaluate, and manage new business opportunities within existing and target clients.
  4. Lead all stages of the sales lifecycle and liaise with appropriate internal and external partners in the process. Apply financial acumen to identify and create healthy, well-structured deals.
  5. Partner with marketing and company leadership to refine the products, pricing, and positioning of services for your target market. Support new product launches with existing and new clients.
  6. Understand clinical and technical workflows to help navigate partners to solutions that utilize standard workflows while still meeting their unique needs and priorities.
  7. Ability to assess and deliver forecasted services volume.
  8. Focus on revenue pull-through by collaborating cross-functionally with Clinical, Medical Affairs, Client Success, and Product teams post implementation at target accounts to reach or exceed annual revenue goals.
  9. Provide ongoing sales relationship management and development to maximize partnership engagement and revenue realization.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Master’s degree a plus.
  2. 5+ years of direct sales to biopharma in the R&D or clinical trials / drug therapy space.
  3. 3+ years relevant sales experience in genomics / oncology / diagnostic testing space and RWD/RWE to inform decision making capabilities and strategic delivery towards targeted populations.
  4. Prior knowledge of genetics, genomic medicine, life sciences and/or precision medicine solutions with a strong emphasis in the biopharma arena including closing new business, retention, and growth of assigned customer portfolio, and meeting revenue targets.
  5. Proven track record in strategic business development, client portfolio management, and cultivating lucrative partnerships all in the biopharma arena. The ideal applicant must be adept at leveraging market insights to aggressively drive revenue growth.
  6. Hands-on experience successfully directing the evaluation, negotiation, and closing of a variety of large, complex sales and/or partnership opportunities in the biopharma space.
  7. Strong financial acumen: delivering business results in a commercial environment, SASS model, budgeting, and financial planning, and reporting.
  8. Previously demonstrated ability to aggressively prospect and negotiate new opportunities, reduce sales lifecycle time, manage contract terms processes, and grow relationships with existing accounts in the pharma industry.
  9. Ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, to work independently, and as part of a highly collaborative team.
  10. Flexible, entrepreneurial spirit, experience introducing new products to market.
  11. Comfortable with change and ability to work cohesively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Effective communication (verbal, written and listening), presentation and influencing skills to collaboratively engage all functions of an organization.
  13. Experience working with CRM systems, Business Intelligence tools and data sources, (i.e. Salesforce, Hubspot, Definitive Healthcare, ZoomInfo, etc.)
  14. Ability to travel to conferences and company offsites.
