If your patient is at risk of an atypical response to a medication based on their PGx results, the lab report will not provide any specific recommendations. If the report indicates that a patient may require a dose adjustment or an alternate medication, we recommend that you first review the Just in Time (JIT) document that corresponds with your patient’s result. JITs based on pharmacogenomics (PGx) results provide up-to-date, guideline-based prescribing information. Additionally, Genome Medical has medical professionals with specialized knowledge in PGx with whom you can consult.
Please note that your patients will not be contacted by a Genome Medical genetic counselor if they have a PGx result indicating their response to a particular medical may be atypical. They can review their results by logging into their Providence MyChart account.
