”Carrier screening for genetic diseases is an important part of the process to consider for any couple that is pursuing pregnancy. We have partnered with a nationally recognized company, Genome Medical, to provide guidance and education, genetic counseling and recommended genetic testing. ACOG currently recommends genetic carrier screening for all patients that are either pregnant or considering pregnancy. Genome Medical will assist you in navigating what tests would be appropriate for you. If you are found to be a carrier for a genetic disease then your partner will be offered similar testing to determine if you could have an affected child. This process offers you the best chance of having a healthy child in the future.Dr. Brad MillerM.D., FACOG
”It is important for all couples planning to conceive to know their options for genetic carrier screening to assess their risk of having a child affected with a genetic condition.Dr. Karen WheelerM.D., FACOG
