Lindsay Meyers, MS, LCGC

Cardiovascular Service Lead

Lindsay is Genome Medical’s cardiovascular genetics lead.  She is a board-certified genetic counselor specializing in cardiac genetics and has more than six years’ experience in pediatric cardiology at Primary Children’s Hospital.

Scott Weissman, MS, LCGC

Cancer Service Lead

Scott serves as Genome Medical’s Cancer Services Lead. He is a board-certified genetic counselor with 15+ years experience in adult-onset genetic disorders and a focus on cancer genetics. He has worked at several hospitals as well as genetic testing labs.

Betsy Swope, MS, CGC

Reproductive Service Lead

Betsy is Genome Medical’s reproductive health lead. She is a board-certified genetic counselor with more than 17 years’ experience. She has worked at the University of Michigan, the University of North Carolina, and Progenity, Inc.

Alan Rope, MD

Pediatric Service Lead

Alan is Genome Medical’s pediatric genetics lead. He previously served as a staff physician and medical geneticist at Kaiser Permanente Northwest and as an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Tanya Bardakjian, MS, CGC

Tanya is a board-certified genetic counselor who specializes in neurogenetics with 20 years experience in a broad variety of clinical settings as a genetic counselor.

Maria D'Addario, MS, LGC

Maria is a board-certified and bilingual (English/Spanish) genetic counselor. Her genetic counseling experience encompasses a broad range of clinical areas, including pediatric, prenatal, adult, and cancer genetics.

Jamie Dokson, MS, LCGC

Jamie is a board-certified genetic counselor with over twelve years of clinical experience. She has worked primarily in reproductive and prenatal genetics. Her work experience includes clinical and laboratory counseling in addition to a supervisory role with Emory University’s Master’s of Genetic Counseling program.

Audrey Fan, MS, LCGC

Audrey is Genome Medical’s Service Delivery Innovations Lead. She has over five years of genetic counseling experience, with a primary focus on cancer genetics.

Mary-Frances Garber, MS, LCGC

Mary-Frances has over 20 years experience as a board-certified genetic counselor focusing on prenatal, carrier screening and supportive counseling. Her experience includes Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Newton Wellesley Hospital and her private practice.

Erynn Gordon, MS, LCGC

Erynn is Genome Medical’s VP of Clinical Operations. She is a board-certified genetic counselor with expertise in clinical care, research and laboratory genetics.

Sarah Kalia, ScM, LCGC

Sarah is a board-certified genetic counselor with prior clinical experience in proactive health and adult genetics. She serves as Vice Chair of the NSGC Practice Guidelines Committee.

Lindsay Meyers, MS, LCGC

Lindsay is a board-certified genetic counselor with more than seven years’ experience. She was the first cardiac genetic counselor in Utah and helped develop and implement the first cardiovascular genetics program in pediatric cardiology at Primary Children’s Hospital.

Megan Myers, MS, LCGC

Megan is a board-certified genetic counselor with experience in cancer genetics. As a genetic counselor at the University of California, San Francisco, she helped create Kintalk.org, an online communication/education tool for families with hereditary cancer syndromes.

Kathryn Sargent, MS, LCGC

Kate has more than 25 years of experience as a board-certified genetic counselor. Her areas of clinical focus include cancer, adult, pediatric and prenatal genetics and 12 years collaboration with the Mayo Clinic in hereditary pancreatic cancer research.

Erica M. Schindewolf, MS, LCGC

Erica is a board-certified genetic counselor who focuses on reproductive and pediatric genetics. She has received Arcadia University’s inaugural “40 under 40” alumni award and the Tracy M. Gardener excellence in genetic counseling award.

MEET OUR

MEDICAL GENETICISTS

Medical geneticists are physicians with specialized training in genetics. Genome Medical medical geneticists work collaboratively with our genetic counselors, primary care physicians and care coordinators to ensure comprehensive care for our patients. They are available for direct patient care, as well as peer-to-peer consultation with health care providers in the United States and in the international community who may be in need of genetics expertise for case review.

Steven Bleyl, MD, PhD

Steve is Genome Medical’s chief medical officer. He is a board-certified medical geneticist and associate professor in medical genetics and pediatrics at the University of Utah. Previously, Steve directed the Clinical Genetics Institute for Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City.

Brian Kirmse, MD

An expert in telemedicine and genetics, Brian works with Genome Medical on innovative methods to increase access to genetic services. He is chief of the division of medical genetics in the department of pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also directs the department’s program for inherited disorders of energy metabolism.

Alan Rope, MD

Alan is Genome Medical’s pediatric genetics lead. He previously served as a staff physician and medical geneticist at Kaiser Permanente Northwest and as an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Douglas Stewart, MD

Douglas Stewart received all of his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania and is board-certified in clinical genetics and internal medicine. After his clinical genetics training, he joined the National Institutes of Health* to develop a program in neurofibromatosis type I (NF1). He is currently affiliated with the National Cancer Institute* where he conducts research on pediatric cancer genetics (in particular, the DICER1 syndrome and NF1), syndrome characterization and gene discovery. (*Dr. Stewart is serving in his personal capacity.)

CARE COORDINATORS

Clinical care coordinators support patients at every point in their Genome Medical journey. They are here to help our patients through any issues that may arise, from logistical issues to questions about test cost.

Hailey Shabazz

Hailey is our Clinical Implementation Manager. She works closely with our clinical team to ensure the successful launch of new programs and partnerships while also working alongside the care coordinators to provide an exceptional patient care experience.

Erica Jordan

Erica earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology and has worked in the health care industry for more than five years. She joined Genome Medical after previously working for Axia Woman’s Health.

Javanna Bailey

Javanna obtained her Bachelor’s of Arts & Science in Political Science, and has combined experience in both the legal and medical fields. Before joining Genome Medical she worked as a case manager in for a legal practice specializing in employment law and disability, and most recently worked at the patient access center for Virtua Health System.

Bianca LeLuyer

Bianca acquired her Bachelors of Science in International Business with an independent study in Global Healthcare. She has over six years experience in clinical and administrative support in institutional and specialty settings. Bianca joined Genome Medical from the logistics team at Cooper University Hospital.
